Services
Windsor Veterinary Care
Our hospital is equipped to provide a wide variety of medical services including general wellness, vaccination, surgical, advanced diagnostic, and emergency. Our ability to perform many diagnostic procedures in-house often enables us to obtain immediate answers and thereby begin treatment plans quickly. In some cases, your pet may require hospitalization and further diagnostics which we are also able to accommodate.
Below is a brief summary of the services (medical and non-medical) we offer to keep your companions feeling their best. Greater detail is available through the other links in this section.
Anaesthesia: We utilize the safest available anaesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using technologically advanced and proven equipment plus qualified team members, the patient’s vital signs are monitored during all anaesthetic procedures.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Dentistry: Our dental services include INTRA-ORAL DIGITAL dental X-rays to assist in the optimal diagnosis of periodontal and endodontic diseases. Our veterinarian(s) perform intra-oral assessments and oral surgery, while our trained veterinary technicians (a team of 2) perform anaesthetic monitoring, cleaning/polishing of teeth and floride treatment. The use of circulating warm water and/or warm air blankets (electric heating pads can burn the patient and are not used) aid in maintaining body temperature during dental anaesthesia. All dental anaesthesia includes mandatory intravenous fluids (IV) with electronic IV pumps, the use of electronic equipment that monitors blood pressure, Sp02 (amount of oxygen being carried by your blood at the site of the monitor probe), heart rate and rhythm (EKG), respiratory rate, and body temperature.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets’ complete health care needs.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Electrocardiography: We provide ECG services on-site.
Emergency Care: We accept all emergencies that occur during our office hours. If your pet requires after-hour emergency care, please call (519) 972-9000.
Grooming: Grooming services for all breeds of dogs and cats are offered from Monday to Friday. Please call to pre-book your appointment.
Individualized Flea Control: We develop preventative and existing flea control programs for the specific needs of your pet and your particular environmental situation. We will assess and tailor flea prevention and control for your house, your yard and your pet.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Laser Therapy: In some cases, our laser therapy program can help reduce and eliminate various types of pain and promote faster healing from a variety of tissue injuries.
Permanent Identification: We offer tattooing and microchip identification.
Pharmacy/Retail: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of maintenance and prescription diets.
Radiology: Two radiology machines that have DIGITAL advantage are on-site. Brack Animal Hospital acquired the first digital fixed X-ray system, as well as the first digital intra-oral (dental) system for veterinary use within Essex County. Digital radiology boasts superior image quality with fast image production (4 seconds for the fixed system). Digital radiology is also GREEN technology, eliminating the use of caustic developing and fixing chemicals used to process film.
Surgical: Our technologically advanced surgical suite allows us to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures. We also offer laser surgery that yields many benefits for your pet, including reduced recovery time.
Wellness and Vaccination: Help us keep your pet healthy by bringing him or her in for regular exams and vaccinations. Dogs and cats (and other pets) age far faster than people so significant changes in your pet’s health can happen in a short period of time. Wellness examinations allow us to diagnose diseases and conditions early, when they’re easier to treat or manage. Often, we can help prevent diseases entirely just by ensuring that your pet has received appropriate vaccinations and preventives. We recommend that healthy adult dogs and cats visit us once a year. Puppies, kittens, senior pets, and pets with health issues or illnesses need more frequent checkups. We’ll work with you to create a wellness program that includes an individualized vaccination and prevention protocol for your pet.
